Harvard Medical School Real Estate

We provide oversight for all areas related to the HMS Real Estate portfolio which comprises approximately 500,000 square feet in leased property.  We serve as a resource for the HMS community and as the main point of contact for all of HMS’ lessor/lessee space transactions.

We work with HMS departments, University Schools and affiliates to identify and lease optimal space to meet their program needs and to support their missions.

Other services include:

  • We support space planning efforts to identify various options to meet budgetary/time constraints.
  • Negotiation of fair market leases.
  • Identify potential sublease opportunities for our tenants.
  • As lessor, we ensure that tenants stay in compliance with lease covenants.
  • As lessee, we provide representation for our tenants to resolve financial/legal/operational issues with our landlords.
